Martha Elizabeth Blakely was born in Indiana, November 6, 1859 and died at home of her son, John, on March 2, 1923.

Married George Johnston, April 21, 1878.

Eight children - Lora, Harley and Nellie Belle have died.

Living are Charley D. of Lovilia, Mrs. C. E. Brunner of Prairie City, John A. of Swan, Forest of Wheatland, Wyoming and Mrs. W. G. Crossen of Eddyville.

Burial in Vandalia Cemetery.
