Samuel Frazier died January 15, 1887 at the home of his son, George Frazier, of Monroe.
He was born in North Carolina April 3, 1808, of Quaker parents. He was baptized out of that church, into the Christian church in June 1825. Was married to Martha Evans May 1, 1837 and was the father of eight children, four of whom survive.
His wife departed this life November 13, 1853.
He was one of the charter members of the "North Liberty Church" in Marion County, Indiana.
He came to Prairie City in 1859, went to Des Moines in 1881 and to Monroe in 1884.
He has been a preacher of the Gospel for forty years and a temperence lecturer since 1838.
Funeral preached by Brethren Guthrie and Toole, at Monroe, Iowa.
Jesse Frazier of Primgar, Iowa is a son of the deceased.
