Mrs. Mary A. Stevens died October 31, 1887 age 64 years and 26 days. She has made her home at J. M. Adamson's for many years.

She received word that her son had been injured in a railroad accident and had taken a severe cold enroute to see him, which resulted in her death.

Among those attending the funeral were two
daughters, Mrs. Perry Rose of Taylor county and Mrs. J. W. Bedell of Des Moines. Mr. James Stevens, a son, of Adair also attended
