Gabriel Strunk Dead

Last Friday, this man, at the age of about seventy-five years, passed from earth to the life beyond. He had lived in Jasper County for the last ten or fifteen years. Within a few years, he has lost his wife and son by death. At the time of his decease, was living at the home of his foster-son, Mr. W. G. Brown, one-half mile south-east of Newton. For quite a while past, he has suffered terribly with some kind of an eruption on the face which resulted in the loss of the sight of one eye and finally in his death.

Mr. Strunk was a well educated, well-to-do man, respected by his neighbors and acquaintances for his worthy qualities of head and heart. The funeral was held at the residence on Sunday morning, at ten o’clock, the services being conducted by Rev. E. McKee, of the United Presbyterian church.
