Wednesday, June 17, 1896Daisy Harsh Dead
Mrs. Eva Harsh has been given a burden of sorrow during the last seven years, having in that time buried her husband and four oldest daughters, all dying of consumption. The last to die was Daisy, who would be twenty years old next October. She has been gradually growing weaker for some time past, as is the case with all consumptives. The end came last Saturday morning. Mrs. Harsh went with the body to Mitchellville, on Monday morning. She was accompanied by Mrs. Dave Clayton, of Nevada; Mr. John Boyd, of Nevada; Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Boyd, and Mrs. C. E. Boyd, of Newton. The funeral was held in Mitchellville.
Daisy was born near Clyde, October 18, 1876. The family moved to Newton from Shelby County about five years ago. Daisy was a sweet girl well liked by all who knew her. About six years ago, she gave her heart to Jesus and joinded the Christian Church. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Hill, at Mitchellville.
Words cannot convey to the sorrow stricken wife and mother the sympathy felt for her by many friends.
