DIED.- At his home in Beuena Vista Township, July 23, 1893, Mr. Bernhard Reineke at the age of 63.

Last Friday the deceased was engaged in loading hay for his neighbor Mr. DeBrown, when from some unknown cause he fell to the ground. Mr. DeBrown asked him if he was hurt, he said, "no", but immediately answered he was; he was taken hom, his brothers Wm. and John Reineke of Carroll were wired for and reached him a few hours before his death. The remains were interred at Mt. Zion beside those of his sister who died several years ago.

The deceased came from Prussia, Germany, upwards of 40 years ago and has lived where died ever since. He was a good man and well respected and leaves three brothers and two sisters to mourn his deparure, the most bereaved being his twin brother Auton. The theory that the deceased was intoxicated at the time of the accident is without foundation as he was a temperate man. ~ The Newton Journal, Wednesday, July 26, 1893
