Minna Marie Elise Pommerening Cogeshall, 94, of 706 W. 12th S., a resident of Newton since 1956, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 23, at her home of cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. William A. Calhoun, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church will conduct services.
Her body has been donated to the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Memorial contributions to Willowbrook Adult Day Care Center or the Jasper County Senior Citizens may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are a daughter, Gladys (Mrs. George) Otto of Newton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alvis, in 1983, two brothers, August and Frank, and three sisters, Mary, Martha and Elsie.
Mrs. Cogeshall was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Gates Circle, Jasper County Senior Citizens Kitchen Band and RSVP.
Mrs. Cogeshall was a retired employee of Carson, Pirie Scott and Co. of Chicago, Ill.
The daughter of Wilhelm and Wilhelmina Busjahn Pommerening, she was born March 25, 1895 in rural Monroe, Wis., and attended rural Wisconsin schools.
She was married to Alvis F. Cogeshall May 2, 1922 in Chicago, Ill.
