Funeral Sunday for Mrs. W. H. Ebert
Well-known County Woman Passes Away Thursday Evening
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Langdon Methodist church for Mrs. W. H. Ebert, well know Manilla township woman who passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, May 14, 1942, a few minutes after suffering a heart attack will attending a church meeting in Langdon.
Rev. Fletcher Forster was in charge of the services and the church choir sang. Pallbearers who carried the remains to the grave in Lebanon cemetery were Otto Rasmusson, James Seccombe, Dougald McDougal, Ralph Harold, Bert Welsh and John O. Ryan.
Anna Koppien (s/b Koppin) was born July 18, 1875 in Germany and came to the United States with other members of the family in 1885. The family lived in Illinois for a couple of years and then moved to Iowa. She married to William H. Ebert May 10, 1895, at Newton, Iowa. They lived at Newton until 1905, when they moved to North Dakota and established their home in Manilla Township. The family has long been affiliated with the Harvey Methodist Church and Mrs. Ebert was a member of the Harvey Center Ladies Auxiliary.
Four children survive with their father. They are Arthur W. Ebert, Roy A. Ebert and Dorothy M. Ebert of Langdon vicinity and Gertrude who is Mrs. Clifford Stevenson of Everett, Wash. Four grandchildren also survive. Will Koppien (s/b Koppin) of St. Paul is a brother who survives and a sister Emelie resides at Lena, Ill.
Note: Anna Koppin Ebert is the daughter of Gottfried Koppin and Louisa Draeger Koppin and was born in Pommern, Prussia, July 18, 1875.
