Monroe Items.
Our people were shocked on last Friday evening, to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Rosa Kanzow, which occurred at her home in this place about 7 o'clock that evening. Though not well for sometime, she had been able to be about, as usual; but was taken down sick with pleurisy, which caused her death in a few hours. The funeral services were held at the home on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Munford, of the U. P. Church; after which the remains wer taken to the Newton train to be send to her former home in Ohio for burial. Though residing in Monroe but a comparatively short time, Mr. Kanzow made many friends here who sincerley mourn her sudden parting.
The deceased was a member of Newton Chapter, No. 100, Eastern Star, and a fine floral tribute was sent by the Chapter. ~ The Newton Journal, Wednesday, Mar. 29, 1893.
