GREELEY, COLO. -- Ronald L. Lockman, 74, formerly of Newton, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colo.

A funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home, located at 3501 South 11th Ave. in Evans, Colo.

Memorials will be accepted to the Spinal Cord Society, 19051 County Hwy 1, Fergus Falls, MN 56537-7609 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.

The son of Goldie and Eugene Lockman, he was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Ottumwa. He graduated from Moravia High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

On Feb. 18, 1956, he married Anna Maria Smaniotto in Centerville. He was employed by Maytag Company for several years and started his own business, Lockman Electric, in 1961. He relocated to Greeley, Colo., in 2003 with his wife and son.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Ed of Greeley, Colo.; a daughter, Debra Fox of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandsons; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
