Edward W. Schwienebart

Baxter-Edward William Schwienebart, 80, a lifelong resident of Baxter Community, died Wed., Sept. 8, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Saturday at the Baxter Evangelical Free Church. The Rev. Eugene Bucklin, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery at Baxter.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 pm Friday at the Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.

Memorials to the family will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Gladys; two sons, John and Larry, both of Baxter; a daughter Darlene Ryan of Bend, Ore.; nine grandchildren; six great-grand children.

Also surviving are a brother Earl of Baxter and a sister Margaret Levis of Apache Junction, Ariz.
Mr. Schwienebart was preceded in death by his parents an two brothers.

He was a member of the Baxter Congregatinal United Church of Christ and the United Auto workers, Local 997, Retirees Union.

Mr. Schwienebart was an employeee of the Maytag Co. in Newton for 30 years, retiring in 1974.
He also farmed and was self employed.

The son of William Frederick an Helen Breer Schweinebart, he was born Dec. 1, 1912 on a farm near Baxter.
He was married to Gladys Mead Feb. 19, 1936 in Audubon.

Edward was born Dec. 1, 1912 died Sept. 8, 1993
