Funeral services for William Van “Billy” Plumb, 29, of 307 S. 3rd Ave. E., who died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Wednesday evening, March 8, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. John Claussen, associate pastor of the Park Avenue Christian Church in Des Moines, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Union Chapel Cemetery in rural Ira.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
Memorials to a fund in his name will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Kimberley Sue; two sons, William Miles and Cainen Milo, both at home; a daughter Amanda Sue, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Plumb of rural Newton; two brothers, David Plumb and Johnathan Plumb, both of Newton; two sisters, Linda Randazzo of Des Moines and Rita Ham of Newton; and a step-grandfather, Raymond Gomez of Newton.
Mr. Plumb was employed in dishwasher assembly at the Maytag Co.
The son of William Milo “Bill” and Janet Van Cleave Plumb, he was born Nov. 20, 1959 in Newton and was a 1978 graduate of Newton Community High School.
He was married to Kimberley Sue Faircloth Feb. 5, 1983 in Kellogg.

Two Newton men die as vehicle flips on N.E. Beltline Road
Two local men were killed Wednesday when the car they were in left the roadway and struck a pole a half mile east of Newton on the Beltline Road.
The driver of the vehicle, William Thomas Waddell Jr., 34, of 415 E. 6th St. N. and his passenger, William Van Plumb, 29, of 307 S. 3rd Ave. E. were killed in the accident at 9:05 p.m.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, Waddell was traveling north at a high rate of speed in his Mazda RX7 on the Beltline Road when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left.
Sheriff officials said the vehicle then left the roadway and went into the north ditch where it his a guide wire support post.
The vehicle then flipped onto its top and came to rest on its roof against a farm drive.
Sheriff officials said both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Plumb was pronounced dead at the scene. Waddell was taken to Skiff Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
