Golden Wedding
Fifty years is a long time for two people to live together as man and wife, raise a family of children and see them one by one leave the parental roof to carry on, on their own hook, the battle of life – Grandfather and Grandmother Jackson Dee, of Colfax, are among the few hereabouts who have lived to celebrate such an event. Fifty years ago last Sunday they were married at the little town of Chill, Ills., and there they lived for 33 years before coming to Colfax, which has since been their home where they are known and esteemed by everybody. The customary collation and appropriate gifts for the worthy old couple were supplemented by a trip to Harry Pierce’s where the party was photographed.
Jackson Dee is now 78 years of age and is still hale and hearty, his wife is 68 and though not as active as her husband bids fair to live and enjoy many happy returns of the wedding day anniversary.
