Eilert – Achtemeier
Eilert – Achtemeier Wedding Last Wednesday
There was a very quiet wedding at the home of Rev. Bretz of the German Evangelical Church on Wednesday afternoon, when Miss Emma Eilert became the bride of Mr. Fred Achtemeier of Jansen, Nebraska. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Eilert who were best man and matron of honor. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Herman Eilert, Sr., who lives nine miles northeast of Newton, and the groom is a son of S. C. Achtemeier of Jansen, Nebr.
After the ceremony the wedding party went to the Eilert home, and there in the evening the near relatives and close friends gathered for a reception. A bountiful three course dinner was served by Misses Minnie and Lydia Eilert, sisters of the bride.
Probably no girl in Mariposa township has more friends than has Emma Eilert-Achtemeier. She has a pleasant, kindly disposition, which wins people for her friends as soon as she meets them and she has womanly qualities that keep them her friends always. The young man who won her is fortunate, and there is no doubt that she will be very popular with all of his friends when she goes with him to his Nebraska home.
Mr. Achtemeier is a stranger in this vicinity, altho he has visited in the homes of his relatives here. He is said to be a progressive young farmer and a man of excellent moral character.
They will visit relatives for a few weeks, after which they will make their home on a farm near Jansen, Nebraska.
