Monument for Lovers
Register and Leader: A two piece Barre granite monument was ordered yesterday to be fitted for the double grave of Miss Caroline Ammer and Verne Barr at Monroe, Ia. They are the young sweethearts who were recently found dead together in a buggy shed at the Barr home after returning from a dance at Monroe.
The monument was purchased of W. F. Swift of the Capital Hill Marble and Granite company, 626 East Locust street, Des Moines, and is to be completed in time to be placed in the Monroe cemetery by Decoration day. Suitable inscriptions to cover the sentiment of the community where the young people were highly respected will be entered upon the stone.
