Celebrating 100th Birthday
Mary Catherine Cowman will be honored for her 100th birthday with an Open House from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2002, at the United Methodist Church, 407 N. Monroe St., Monroe, Iowa, in the Fellowship Hall. A card shower is also planned.
She was born May 21, 1902, in Marion County to Cornelius and Rachel Josephine (Clark) Kingrey. She married Oakley Cowman October 6, 1920, and they are the parents of one child, Edna Josephine Monteith.
Hosting the event is her three grandchildren Keith Allsup, Carroll Allsup, and Florence Monteith, all of LaPorte City, Iowa. And also her four great-grandchildren, Kari Hasstedt, Sarah Rathe, Tara Miehe, and Eric Allsup and her three great-great grandchildren, Gage Hasstedt, Jaden Hasstedt, and Emily Miehe.
Mary has been a lifelong resident of Monroe. Oakley and her have lived and farmed, in the Monroe area, until they moved to town on Marion St. Mary has just recently moved to a nursing home in Knoxville where family and friends may visit her.

All are welcome to come celebrate this event with her and the family.
