Veterans of 1840-From what we can learn there are quite a number of men in Jasper County who voted for Harrison and Tyler, and took part in the memorable campaign of 1840. We would like to have a list of them, and threfore ask and earnestly urge our friends to take pains to furnish us the names of these men. Give their present age and surroundings-where they were born-at what place they polled their vote, and any other particulars that they mad deem of interest. We will wait two weeks and at the end of the time we will publish the list. ~ The Newton Journal 7-11-1888
