Married
At the residence of the brides parents, on Wednesday evening, October 10, 1877, Rev. Thompson officiating, Mr. C. J. Orrell and Miss Ida M. Burnett, both of Kellogg.
A select party of relatives and friends of the happy couple were present at the nuptials and a sociable and pleasant time enjoyed. The bride and groom received quite a large number of valuable presents, among which may be mentioned the following: From Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Burnett, silver tea set and five dollar gold piece; Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Burnett, Des Moines, set of silver forks; Mr. and Mrs. T. Burnett, Geneseo, Ill., camp chair; D. L. Burnett, clock; Mrs. C. E. Orrell, bible; Miss Hester and Mary Orrell, lamp; Mr. and Mrs. J. George, Sheffield, Ill., silver butter dish and knife; Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Anderson, Kellogg, castor; Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Stafford, autograph album; Miss Timm and T. F. Peale, set of silver spoons.
The young people will visit Council Bluffs, after which they will enter upon the journey of life together by going to housekeeping. We acknowledge the receipt of a large cake, for which we return our thanks. May the happy couple life long and prosper and their pathway be strew with roses instead of thorns.
