Garton-Tarantino Nuptials at Nashua

The Little Brown Church at Nashua, Ia., was the setting for the one o'clock wedding Saturday of Gerri Tarantino and Douglas Garton of Baxter.

The Rev. Utterback performed the ceremony in the presence of witnesses Paul Berry of Newton and Sherry Deppe of Kellogg, and the bride's daughter by a previous marriage, Debbie Tarantino.

The bride wore a winter white brocaded sheath suit dress and had a corsage of white carnations and red roses. her accessories were brown. Miss Deppe wore a turquoise sheath dress with a corsage of white carnations edged in turquoise.

Debbie Tarantino was dressed in blue velvet and wore a white carnation corsage. The men had carnation bouttoniers.

RECEPTION

A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Borts of Mingo, at 7 p.m. About fourty guests attended. The serving table was centered with a lovely wedding cake iced in pink and white, topped with wedding bells and the names of the bride and groom.

Mrs. Coy Garton poured coffee. Mrs. Dean Flora, sister of the groom, cut and served the wedding cake.

The couple will live in Newton. Mr. Garton is employed by the state and the bride is employed at the Maytag Co., in Newton. ~ The Baxter New Era, Wednesday, February 14, 1962.
