In Memoriam
"Sister Amanda V. Leach was a continuous member of the W.R.C. at Colfax for some 25 years, holding offices a greater part of that time from 1898 to 1907 Ass’t Guard, from 1901 to 1905 Guard. Chaplain 1906 to 1908, Guard 1911, color bearer 1912 to 1917, Chaplain 1918. She also served as Junior Vice. The writer was a close friend of Mrs. Leach, became acquainted with her 17 years ago, found her a woman of beautiful character, and at all times willing to do kindly deeds for others. To know her was to love her and at all times was devoted to her family and their interests. We will miss her in our corps meetings. Our loss is her gain for she lived a true Christian life."
This is taken word for word from the actual newspaper article. Newspaper is unknown but believe the article to have been written in 1920 after Amanda’s death.
