Jones Family Meets at Ira

The seventeenth annual reunion of the C. E. Jones family was held Sunday, August 12, at the Ira school auditorium with an attendance of 83. A cooperative noon meal was served and the hosts, Mrs. Pearl Jones and family, served ice cream during the afternoon as a special treat.

Tables were decorated with garden flowers and a birthday cake on a musical cake plate formed a centerpiece. Each member present having an August birthday placed a candle on the cake. These were Kathryn Louise Weston, Cleo Jones, Mary Ann Jones, Judy Vander Werff, Mrs. Z. C. Jones, Ronald Jones, Maxine Altes and Nadine Mullihan.

Perfect attendance at the reunion was had by the Pearl Jones and Z. C. Jones families.

Mrs. A. A. Southern, president, conducted a short business meeting. Mrs. Roy Weston of Mingo was elected president and Mrs. Z. C. Jones was reelected secretary and treasurer. Mr. and Mrs. John Jones will be hosts next year.

Births reported since the last meeting were those of Kathy Ann to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jones and Constance Marie to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Jones.

Guests were Mrs. George Strawser of Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; Judy Nibe, John Billingsley and Walter Lattimer of Newton.
