Dealer in General Merchandise, Walnut street, Colfax; residence Des Moines, Iowa; born in Dummerston, Windham Co., Vt. in 1831; came to Des Moines, Iowa in 1862; had the largest and most extensive dry goods business in that city until Dec. 10, 1877; commenced business in Colfax in May 1877. Married Miss Lula E. LONGFELLOW in November 1875; she was born in Maine in 1848. They have one child - Randolph L., born in August 1876. Democratic; he is a member of the Episcopal Church; she is a member of the Congregational Church.
