Farmer; Sec. 21; P. O. Colfax; born in Muskingum Co., Ohio in 1829; came to this county in 1864; owns 210 acres of land, valued at $35 per acre. Married Zilpha BATES in 1850. She was born in Virginia in 1829. They have eleven children - Louis H., Mahlon S., John H., Charity E., Joseph H., Phoebe A., Charles E., Franklin, George E., Jessie W., James E. Is a Republican. Has held the offices of Sub-Director, Supervisor, Assessor, Constable and Township Trustee. He is a member of the M. E. Church and A., F. & A. M.
