GRAHAM, John
Farmer and Stock Raiser; Sec. 20; P. O. Prairie City; born in Centre Co., Penn., Nov. 18, 1833; came to this county in 1864. Has 240 acres of land, valued at $12,000. Politics, Democrat. Holds the office of Township Trustee. Member of the Congregational Church. He married Matilda A. LUCAS. She was born in Centre Co., Penn., Nov. 6, 1841. They have four children - Arthur, born Sept. 17, 1865; George, Jan. 18, 1867; David, Nov. 4, 1869; Johnny, June 17, 1875. Emigrated from Pennsylvania to Missouri, stopped; thence the Mississippi River to Keokuk; bought a team and wagon, and came through to Jasper Co., where he has resided since. Brought some money with him; paid $2,500 for 170 acres of land, on which there were forty acres broken.
