SIMPSON, J., Rev.
United Brethren Church; Kellogg; born in Muskingum Co., Ohio, in 1820; moved to Putnam Co. in 1834, and to Poweshiek Co., Iowa, in 1856; located in this county in 1863. Married Elizabeth PATRICK in 1842; she was born in Indiana in 1818; their children are Thomas J., William S., Amos J., T. L., Sarah E., George W., Wallace W. and Lincoln E. He was licensed to preach in 1853, ordained in 1860, and continued preaching up to a few years ago, when he retired owing to impaired health.
