PATTERSON, S. S.
Attorney at law; Kellogg; born in Monroe Co., N. Y., in 1834; moved with his parents to Hamilton, Canada, when a child; he returned to the United States and located in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1857; he studied law with the Hon. W. P. NOBLE, M. C. from Tiffin district. Enlisted in the 12th Ohio V. I., in 1863, as private, and soon after received from President LONCOLN an appointment as Aide on Gen. HUNTER's staff, with rank of Captain; he was mustered out in Lynchburgh, Va., in 1865; was appointed United States Revenue Inspector of District of Southwest Virginia in 1866. He practiced law in Lynchburgh, Va., until 1868; he located in this county in 1870. He married Miss Annie M. DAVIS, daughter of Levi DAVIS of Tiffin, Ohio, in 1866; she was born in Tiffin, Ohio, in 1843. They attend the Methodist Church; he is a Democrat in politics.
