KODER, J.
Attorney at law, office corner of Commercial and Washington streets, Monroe. He was born 14 Mar 1836, in Ashland Co., OH and came to Iowa when only a little over 13 years of age. He attended college at Pella, Marion Co., Iowa. He was married twice and had two children by his first wife. He was admitted to practice in Marion Co., in 1871 and was admitted to practice in the Federal Courts 3 Mar 1876, at Des Moines, IA, before Hon. J. F. Dillon. His first wife's name was Mary A. HART who died in 1861. He was married to this 2nd wife 3 Jul 1862. Her name was Artimisia E. HOWARD. He studied law with Hon. V. B. Bennett and in 1869, in connection with his preceptor and H.M. McCully, started the notorious Copperhead at Pella. He was later engaged in the publication of the Des Moines Valley Herald, At Monroe, taking that paper with a circulation of 150 and when he sold out to J. S.
