BLOUNT, George
Coal merchant, Monroe. He was born in Derbyshire, Eng. in 1832, and came to this country in 1857. He stopped in Iowa City, this State, about two weeks, then went to Rock Island Co., IL, and was there two years, thence to Henry Co., IL until 1856, when he removed to this county. He owns twenty-eight acres of coal land in Sec 33, Fairview Twp. and seventy-five acres of land in Marion Co., sixty acres being coal land. He employs sixteen men during the Winter months taking out coal. He married Miss Ann ROLLAND in England.
