TRAFTON, Frank
City Bakery, on Main street. He was born 22 Dec 1854 in Maine. In 1864 he came to Jasper Co.,Iowa and engaged in farming until 1876 when he commenced his present business. His parents live in the city. His father was born in 1822 in Maine and his mother was born in 1829 in Massachusetts. He has one brother, George (who is listed as a baker.) John enlisted in 1862 in Co. D. 21st Maine V. I. and served about eight months and died at Baton Rouge, of a disease contracted in the army.~ "Newton Township Biographies," The History of Jasper County, Iowa, (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
