MOORE, A. L.
Capitalist. He was born 17 Mar 1817 in Chittendon Co., VT. In 1845 he went to Freeport, Illinois. In 1856 he came to Newton, Iowa, and first engaged in brick making. In 1857 he commenced the brokerage and loan business. He married Lavenia C. MORSE, 1 Mar 1854. She was born 30 Apr 1832 in Underhill, VT. They have three children---Mary M., Lois A., and Marcia B.
