ELLETT, Permella
Farming; Sec. 24; P. O. Colfax; born in Gallia Co., Ohio in 1817; came to Greene Co., Ind. in 1826; thence to Mashall Co., Iowa in 1856, and to Jasper Co. in 1857. Has 170 acres of land, valued at $45 per acre. Married Barton S. ELLETT in 1835; he was born in Fleming Co., Ky. in 1810; died in Greene Co., Ind. Dec. 21, 1855, leaving three children - Amanda, who died March 24, 1857; Elizabeth and Matilda. Mrs. Ellett is among the early settlers; came to Iowa a widow with three children, and has as fine a farm and as good buildings as any in the township. ~ "Washington Township Biographies," The History of Jasper County, Iowa, (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
