Farmer; Sec. 28; P. O. Colfax; born in Adams Co., Penn. in 1815; came to Stark Co., Ohio in 1826; thence to LaGrange Co., Ind. in 1846; thence to Jasper Co. in 1855. Has 107 acres of land, valued at $45 per acre. He married Miss Rebecca PATTERSON in 1842; she was born in Wayne Co., Ohio in 1820. They have nine children - Sylvester, Jeremiah, Emily J., Alfred C., Celistia F., Julius, Jessie A., Duncan D. and Freddie. Republican; they are members of the M. E. Church.
