RYAN, Martin
Farmer; Sec. 8; P. O. Newton; born in County Tipperary, Ireland, in 1823; emigrated to America, 1848, and to Jasper County in 1856; has 120 acres of land, valued at $50. Married Miss Ellen PASHEN in February, 1857; she was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, in 1828; died in Nov. 1850. Then married Jane CROWLEY in 1859; she was born in County Derry, Ireland, in 1818. Greenbacker; Mr. and Mrs. RYAN are members of the Catholic Church. Transcriber's note: Almost all other entries in this book give the value of land on a per acre basis, ranging from $20-75 per acre.
