Farmer; Sec. 10; P. O. Newton; born in Cheshire, Eng., in 1838; emigrated to America in 1853; came to Jasper Co. in 1875; has 525 acres of land, valued at $30 per acre. Married Miss Julia BAILEY in 1861; she was born in Mercer Co., Penn., in 1842; they have six children-Fred N., William H., Kate L., Nellie B., Jason C. and Emma W. He is a Greenbacker; members of the Episcopal Church. He is a member of the A., F. & A.
