CAVENDER, J. C.
Retired farmer; P. O. Reasonor; born in Greene Co., Ohio, in 1820; removed to Cass, Ill., in 1856; thence to Marion Co., Iowa, in 1865, and to Jasper Co. in1868; owns his residence and lot. Married Nancy A. PASCHAL in1840; she was born in Hampshire Co., Va., in 1818; they have eight children-Mary, Samuel, David, Virginia, Sarah L., James, Joseph and Sarah M. Republican; member of the M. E. Church. Mr. C.'s son John P., enlisted in the 34th Ill. V. I., in Aug., 1861, and died in St. Louis in Oct., 1861.
