BADGER, Mary A., Mrs.
Sec. 23; P. O. Newton; she was born in Knox Co., Ohio, in 1848; removed to Jasper Co., Iowa, and settled on their present farm, which they entered from the government, consisting of 730 acres, valued at $36,000. She was married to Thomas REES March 4, 1845; he was born Sept. 4, 1818, in Pennsylvania, and died March 10, 1865, in Jasper Co., Iowa; they had nine children-Anson E., Spencer H., Henrietta E., Roseland, Frank P., Estella M. and Effa C.; lost Charles, aged 9 years, and Lewis died in infancy.
