BICKNELL, John W.
He has a livery and sale stable corner Marion and Vine streets, residence, Newton. He was born 29 Apr 1827, in Wilkes Co., N. C. He came to Rush, Co., IN in 1832 and came to Jasper County, Iowa in 1854. He engaged in farming until 1870, when he engaged in the livery business. He married Rebecca NICHOLS in 1849. She was born in OH in 1831, and died 22 Apr 1863. They had five children---Wilford S., Wesley C., William H., Mary J., Elias H. M. He married second to Miss V. BLACKWOOD 24 Dec 1864. She was born 14 Sep 1845 in Athens County, OH. They have two children---Frank and Lester.
