JACOBS, Thomas H.
Farmer; Sec. 27; P. O. Kellogg; was born in Berks Co., Penn., July 21,1830, and came to this State in 1858, and to this county in 1870; owns eighty acres of land, valued at $30 per acre. He is Episcopalian in religion, and Republican in politics. His wife, Maria MORRISON, was born in Orange Co., N. Y., Feb. 14, 1844; she is a Presbyterian; they were married Oct. 5, 1865, and have three children -Harriet Amelia, John Howard and Royal Clifton. Mr. JACOBS enlisted in Co. C, 2d I. V. C., in May, 1861, and was in the battles of Corinth and Shiloh, and was skirmishing continually; served three years in the war for the preservation of the Union. ~ "Mariposa Township Biographies," The History of Jasper County, Iowa, (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
