BRUNSON, John
Farmer; Sec. 26; P. O. Kellogg; was born in Clermont Co., Ohio, June 30, 1823; came to this county in 1866. Rents eighty acres of land. His wife, Almira M. SMITH, was born in Toronto, Canada, June 27, 1827. Married December 9, 1847; have one child - Nettie, born July 19, 1858. He enlisted August 3, 1862, in Co. F, 12th Illinois V. I.; was in the battle of Corinth October 4 and 5, and at the battle of Jackson, Miss., and in innumerable skirmishes through Alabama; and with General Sherman on his famous march to the sea, serving to the close of the war. ~ "Mariposa Township Biographies," The History of Jasper County, Iowa, (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
