PRESTON, Charles W.
Farmer and Stock Raiser; S. 32 P. O. Newton; born in Bradford Co., Penn., March 20, 1839. Married Catharine FLORA in Illinois in 1862. She was born in Pennsylvania in 1844; have five children living - Lizzie M., William E., Fannie, Mary (infant), Laura N. and Nettie J. died in infancy. Has 370 acres of land, valued at $30 per acre. Came to Illinois when he was 12 years old, with his parents, thence to Jasper Co., Iowa in 1864. Broke his farm, and built a large house and barn, set out a large orchard and grove, and has good improvements.
