BROWN, A. W. proprietor Kellogg House; Kellogg; born in Ohio in 1837; moved to Winnebago, Ill., when quite young; he visited San Francisco and other points in California in 1864; located in Fayette Co., Iowa, in 1866, and in Rock Creek Tp. in this county the same year, where he farmed until 1872, when he traded for his hotel in Kellogg, which he has conducted since upon a principle satisfactory to himself and the traveling public. This house is conveniently arranged for the comfort and accommodation of guests. It is well furnished and well kept, being far above the average country hotel, and superior to many of greater pretensions. He married Miss A. C. WOODWARD in 1856; she was born in Ohio in 1840. Their children are M. W., born Nov. 26, 1858; Cyntha I., May 3, 1863; and L. G., July 23, 1871. He is Independent in politics.
