ADAIR, A. W. Dr.
Physician and surgeon, Kellogg; born in Clark Co., Ohio in 1828; moved to Wayne Co., Ind., in 1837, and to Hendricks Co., in 1851. He located in this county in 1864, when he purchased the present site of Kellogg, and subdivided it into town lots, and by energy and enterprise soon laid the foundation of this thrifty town. He married Miss Amanda K. WORTH in 1864; they had two children-- Sarah E. and Walter S. Mrs. ADAIR died March 2, 1866. He married his second wife--Miss S. E. MYRELEY in 1876; they have one child-- Inez E., born Aug. 18, 1877. The Doctor is a graduate of Rush M. C., Chicago, Ill., and has been practicing twenty-seven years; owns 340 acres of land in Buena Vista Tp., valued at $30 per acre, and property in Kellogg, valued at $9,000, including his residence. ~ "Kellogg Township Biographies," The History of Jasper County, Iowa, (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
