SHROPSHIRE, A. C.
Farmer and stock raiser, Glen Farm; Sec. 31; P. O. Monroe.

Born in Kentucky in 1835; came to this county in 1876. Married Mrs. Loretta LONG; she was born in Ohio. He is principally engaged in raising thorough-bred stock. He has one of the best stock farms in the State, as well as the finest herd of short horn cattle, and the best thorough-bred Clydesdale and Cleveland bred horses, Poland-China and Berkshire hogs, Cotswold and other fine breeds of sheep. Persons desiring thorough-bred horses, cattle, sheep and hogs, would do well to write him for a catalogue, or call on him at his home, "Glen Farm," six miles north of Monroe, and seven miles south of Newton. ~ Fairview Township Biographies "The History of Jasper County" (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
