LANDMESSER, Nicholas
Farmer; Sec. 5; P. O. Galesburg; owns 300 acres, valued at $9,000; born in Saarbuck, in the Rhenish province of Prussia, Dec. 5, 1811; he landed in America Aug. 3, 1833, and settled in Luzerne Co., Penn., where he resided twenty-one years. He married Catharine KREIDLER in Luzerne Co., Penn., March 1, 1835;she was born in that county Aug. 20, 1811; they moved to this county in December, 1854, and soon after settled where they now live; their children are Nicholas (residing in this township), George (residing in Marshall Co.), Daniel (residing in Buena Vista Tp.), Lewis (also in Buena Vista Tp.), Peter (residing in Cass Co.), and Henry (residing in this township). ~ Elk Creek Township Biographies "The History of Jasper County" (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
