CORSELIUS, J. C.
Physician and surgeon; Galesburg; born in Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, February 6, 1837; commenced the study of medicine with Dr. J. M. BECKER, at Newton, Pennsylvania; attended his first course of medical lectures at Ann Arbor, Mich., and a second course in the Medical Department of the University of New York, in New York City; he commenced the practice of his profession in Newton, Pennsylvania; but, in 1863, moved to this county, settling in Lynnville, where he remained one year, and moved to Peoria, Mahaska Co., stayed till 1866, and moved to this village, where he has since resided. Married Mary SHELLY in Wyoming Co., Pennsylvania, in 1861; she was born in Luzerne Co., in 1842; their children are Fred, Harry, Jephtha C., Bertha, Fannie and Mollie. ~ Elk Creek Township Biographies "The History of Jasper County" (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
