STANLEY, Jesse; Indian mechanical instructor. He was born in Henry Co., IN in 1834 and located in this county in 1858. He married Amy NORTON in 1856. She was born in the same county and State in 1838. They are members of the Friends' Church. He owns an improved farm in Sec. 36, valued at $30 per acre. He has been instructing the Osage and Kaw Indians in mechanical arts during the last four years, by direction of the U. S. Government.
