Alvern John “Al” Kinrade, 96, the son of Leonard Archie and Emily (Coverdale) Kinrade, was born July 28, 1926, in Maquoketa, Iowa. He attended Delmar Community Schools, the University of Dubuque and the Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago.

On January 19, 1957, Al was united in marriage to Pearl Joan Boelman in Aplington. Al and Joan were married 63 years. He served the Lord as a United Methodist Pastor for 42 years, retiring in 1992.

Al died on Sunday morning, June 18, 2023, at his home at Wesley Life Park Centre in Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Joan, who died on May 9, 2020.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 1pm, at Union Cemetery in Maquoketa. Memorials are being designated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Those left to honor Al's memory include his sons: David (JoAn) Kinrade of Newnan, GA and Scott (Amy) Kinrade of Mishawaka, IN; his grandchildren: Johnathan, Stefan, Malia, Emily and Rachel; his great-grandchildren: Riley, Harper, Truman, and Quinn, and his many good neighbors and friends.
