Funeral services for Gertrude L. (Mrs. Arnold) Holtz, 72, were held at Peace Church of Christ United, Bennett Dec, 24, 1990 with the Rev. Steven Myren officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Richard Kamper in charge of the committal service.
Pallbearers were Loria Myren-Manbeck, Brian, Beth and Jill Bickford and David and Bobbi Jo Myren. The country gospel quartet sang. Pat Barglof was pianist and Ruth Riedesel was organist.
Mrs. Holtz died at the Bettendorf Health Center Dec. 19.
The daughter of Charles F. and Ida Graves Cram, she was born at Maquoketa Nov. 30, 1918. She graduated from Maquoketa high school in 1925 and spent her life in Maquoketa before moving to Bennett.
She was married to Arnold L. Holtz at Maquoketa Feb. 15, 1938.
A homemaker and bookkeeper, she was a former deputy treasurer of Jackson county. She was a member of Peace Church of Christ United.
Mrs. Holtz is survived by her husband, Bennett; 3 daughters, Judith (Mrs. Jack) Bickford, Maquoketa; the Rev. Linda (Mrs. Robert) Myren, Bennett and Pam Holtz, San Jose, Calif.; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs. Mildred Cram, Davenport and Kathleen (Mrs. Danvers) Tubbs, Davenport. She was preceded in death by a daughter; a sister and 4 brothers.
