H. D. "Bud" Skrivseth, 74, of Maquoketa, died Friday, April 9, 1993 in Mercy Hospital, Dubuque.
The funeral was held Monday in Carson Funeral Home, Maquoketa. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William, Travis and Heath Bullock, Chad and Cory Whitsell and Todd, Jon and Cody Skrivseth.
Mr. Skrivseth was born Dec. 5, 1918, in Minot, ND to Henning and Nellie Best Skrivseth. He married Marian Sagers, Nov. 17, 1940, in Maquoketa. He owned and operated Skrivseth Linoleum Store and Snow White Paint Store in Maquoketa for over 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of Road Runners Camping Organization, Jointerville Boat Club, Maquoketa American Legion Post No. 75 and Maquoketa Knights of Pythais.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Terry of Maquoketa and Richard of Preston; four daughters, Mrs. Bill (Sharon) Bullock of LaMotte, Mrs. Church (Kathie) Whitsell of Reedsburg, WI, Mrs. Rich (Carol) Kendall of Maquoketa, and Mrs. Dean (Christy) Thomas of Grayslake, IL; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Skrivseth of Springfield, OR.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
