Leanna V. Berkley, 76, of Atlantic, Ia., formerly of the Preston area, died March 28, 1993 in Omaha, NE. Funeral services were held March 31 in Salem Lutheran Church, Spragueville, with Pastor Gloria Keister officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Donn Gordon, Paul Berkley, Jerry Armstrong, Tom Berkley, Jim Berkley, and Rock Armstrong.

Mrs. Berkley was born Dec. 19, 1916 to Ernest and Anna Kunze Pankow in Spragueville. She married Edwin Gordon in 1938. Following his death, she married Thomas Berkley in 1946. She was a graduate of Preston High School and attended Wartburg College. She enjoyed old movies, music, and volunteer work.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Donn Gordon, of Carson City, Nev., Thom Berkley of Guthrie Center, Paul Berkley of Harlan and Jim Berkley of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Nancy Armstrong of Panora; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
